Love Letter Writing is Not Lost

When I read Ashlee’s Blog about The Love Letters, it completely touched my heart.  I eagerly signed up for The 12 Days of Love Letters. From December 5-17, The World Needs More Love Letters is rolling out its biggest, grandest, love letter writing campaign.  Every one has a few minutes in their day to write one.  All you need is a pen, paper, envelope and stamp.  Just imagine your letter giving someone comfort, encouragement, hope. It truly is inspiring!

There are different stories posted every day.  Send to all. Send to one.  It’s up to you. Today I wrote my first letter to Elizabeth (and will also send a love letter to Shelley and Nelson and Nickie).

Here is Elizabeth’s story:

Elizabeth is in her early 20’s and got married a couple years back. Without warning, her husband recently decided to leave her.  Her close friend wrote, “Elizabeth was strong for a long while but has been shutting out all those who have been supporting her, loving her and trying to point her in the right direction. Elizabeth is a highly creative individual who is multi-faceted and full of potential. She has been through the ringer and is resisting her true life callings.”

This love letter bundle will be a bit different. Instead of a giant bundle of love letters, Elizabeth’s friend plans to leave a love letter for her each day. She wants to leave them on her car, at work, send them to her house, etc. “My prayer is that this bundle will change her life and bring healing from this situation.”

Help us help Elizabeth’s friend to leave a trail of love letters that will change her life today….

It doesn’t matter if you don’t know the person.  Write it as if you are writing a letter to friend going through the same thing.  Be positive. Write what comes from your heart.  For tips on how to write a letter, click here.

When you are finished, snap a few photos and tweet them to @moreloveletters. Sign, seal and drop the letter in the mailbox to Elizabeth’s Bundle, Po Box 2061, North Haven, CT 06473.

Happy love letter writing!
